Syed Alam is Founder & CEO of accentedge, a leading digital transformation company headquartered in Chicago.

Mr. Alam is responsible for overall management of the company, setting its strategic direction, ensuring execution against corporate objectives, and be the champion for customers, employees and stakeholders. He sets the tone for company’s values, ethics, and culture through its commitment to helping customers gain completive edge.

He brings over 30 years of proven leadership in the fields of information technology, cloud computing, analytics and content protection. He has delivered major cost reductions, automated processes, improved compliance, deployed enterprise-level solutions, and enhanced profitability for some of the largest organizations in the public and private sector.

Prior to founding accentedge in January 2018, Syed served as the Global Leader for Cloud Computing & Digital Workspace for Abbvie, Inc. overseeing global collaboration, cloud infrastructure, and solution architecture programs for this $28-Billion pharmaceutical company. He planned and lead digital transformation efforts, digital workspace, cloud computing, search, analytics, and content protection transformation initiatives.

From April 2004 to September 2013, Mr. Alam was Managing Director of Alam & Company, a consulting company he founded that specialized in design, implementation, and management of on-premise and cloud-based technology solutions for a wide range of markets, including health care, agriculture, sustainability, professional services, and media. He served as a Program Manager for Miller Brewing Company for April 2001 to April 2004, and was the Founder and President of SoftGear Corporation, an award-winning technology company from January 1993 to April 2001.

Mr. Alam began his professional Career in 1987 at M&I Data Services, now FIS, and held positions of increasing responsibility until 1992. He holds an M.B.A. from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and received his B.B.A in Management Information Systems & Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has completed Strategy & Innovation programs from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology.) Syed resides in suburban Chicago with his wife and three kids. He is an avid cyclist, runner and swimmer and recently completed four triathlons as well as six marathons including the Chicago, New York City, and Boston Marathons.

Eric Miller is Vice President, Government Affairs of accentedge.

Mr. Miller is responsible for representing accentedge and conveying its policy and legislative positions in meetings with members of congress, state and local elected officials and their staff. He also works with policymakers, consultants and relevant associations to research and support legislative policy initiatives.

Most recently, Miller served with U.S. Congressman Robert Dold, where he acted as Senior District Representative, managing constituent affairs and specializing in policy issues including healthcare, insurance, IRS, banking, international trade, housing, environmental issues, education and human services.

Miller served for 10 years as Chief of Staff for Illinois State Representative Elizabeth Coulson where he managed the district office and worked on legislation including passing Illinois’ “Safe Haven Act” which allows a mother to bring their newborn to a police station, fire station or emergency medical facility without fear of prosecution. 128 newborns have been safely relinquished under this law in Illinois since it was enacted in 2001.

Miller also worked to elect Illinois Senator Mark Kirk to Congress in 2000 and worked on subsequent successful campaigns for Kirk. He also served as campaign manager for Illinois Deputy Governor Leslie Munger.

Before getting involved in politics, Miller worked in fundraising for Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry and Beloit College. Miller serves on the Save Abandoned Babies Foundation Board of Directors and is a program leader with Landmark Worldwide in Chicago. He enjoys biking, camping and long-distance running.
